Welcome to Be Well Counseling Services! I’m Megan Kuder, an Atlanta based Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in helping individuals navigate through issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions so that they can attain a sense of freedom, hope, and courage to more boldly step forward into their life. I also specialize in seeing dating, pre-marital, and married couples. I work with dating/premarital couples to help them discern their next steps in relationship while I work with married couples who are in need of help navigating the complexities of relationship through building healthy communication & conflict resolution skills in a warm yet direct environment that promotes empathy and understanding.
The name of my counseling practice, “Be Well” is purposeful in that I believe true wellness comes from a holistic understanding of mental, physical and spiritual health. I work from a perspective of seeing the whole person, mind-body-spirit, and will co-create treatment goals with each client individually, recognizing that each person is created uniquely and perfectly for a purpose. I work from a Christian understanding of spiritual formation, and will gladly incorporate this into sessions should a client desire this type of work in their therapy. However, I do not require clients to have the same belief system as myself in order to work with me in therapy as I consider myself respectful and sensitive to other’s beliefs and values, thus this is something that I will discuss with each client in our initial intake session so we can best work together. Clients often initially enter into therapy in a state of distress and apprehension, and after building a safe space together and working through the therapeutic process, they leave therapy feeling encouraged, equipped and empowered to move forward into their lives more confidently and with more energy and excitement towards the future.
BACKGROUND
I’ve been working as a counselor in the the Atlanta area for more than six years, and throughout this time I have been fortunate enough to work in a variety of clinical settings including: in-home residential recovery programs, private practice, a psychiatric hospital setting, and a church-based counseling center that I personally helped bring to the state of Georgia in 2013-2014 and that I have recently left to begin my own counseling business. I’ve most recently opened up my own private practice in East Atlanta in hopes of providing even better services to fewer clients who truly want to see change in their life and who are willing to work with me to attain their treatment goals.

ABOUT ME
Outside of the counseling room, I enjoy health and fitness (I’ve done a couple of sprint triathlons and I hope to do more), the outdoors (I must say I prefer “glamping" to actual camping, much to my husband’s dismay), traveling (I love the ocean, new cities, hiking and discovering delicious restaurants), writing (check out my blog come October 2018!) and reading (all things mental health and spiritual formation related), and most of all spending time with my husband, David, and our wonderful community of friends and family that span throughout the United States and abroad!
